After taking many photos and letting them ferment inside a camera card for a few weeks, it is now time to share with you the fruits of an eventful weekend. Following this post, I shall share some of the moments with you of my first time participating in a festival. The Ashville Viking Festival is an annually held event on the last weekend of April in the town of Ashville, Ohio. The central theme is 9th and 10th century Viking peoples but many other living history groups representing Roman, German 16th century, and 15th century English Yorkist soldiers also come and camp out together. The public might stop by to see what's going on but we try to ignore them as much as possible. Just kidding! It's fun to get questions from people who show up to see the different campsites and craftsmen demonstrations.
I can't wait to do something like this again. Hopefully, I will find someplace to go in the summer but we'll see what happens. I hope the pictures entertain you.

Thanks so much for the fave. That is one that I still have, and still am quite happy with.
I've always wondered about the process of inlaying. I would need someone to show me how to dovetail the groove, though.

I recommend the relevant chapters in THE ART OF ENGRAVING, by James Meeker.
Thanks for the :+devwatch:!

I think I'm a lot like a parrot.. I talk nonsense and I preen alot.
Dyslexic & agnostic (still wondering if there is a DOG)
Anyone who costumes up as a Lord of the Rings character is alright in my book. Pretty creepy impersonation of Wormtongue there. *shudders*
Come to think of it, there are now two females that I watch that have dressed up as the same character. This is a slightly disquieting realization.

Hehe. . . . I just realized you are the sister of the person and that the person I was referencing is the very same person in the picture, I just didn't realize it at the time. *slaps forehead*

Inki is going to have a field day with this.

By the way, it's not nice to hold the ball from Dinki. Poor puppy!

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit. - The Tick
You're very welcome. It is a very awesome anti-candy thief device worthy of recognition.
